I first met Carlyle at the start of 2019. I walked into Crunch and asked for a personal trainer and was assigned to Carlyle. During our first session, She asked what my goals were and if I was ready to commit to training.  At the time I didn’t know what my goals were, I just thought I needed to work out because it was the right thing to do. For context, I worked insane hours and was traveling for work weekly. I felt like I had no control over myself and figured working out would help. During that first session, I half heartedly committed to training and my "fitness" journey began. 

I saw Carlyle once or twice a week on and off for most of 2019. I was not eating right, I was not training regularly, I was drinking a ton and the only time I moved my body was when I saw Carlyle. Progress was slow, and I felt miles away from whatever arbitrary "fitness" goal I had set.

When 2020 hit and the world stopped due to the pandemic, I found myself in Miami. I wasn’t traveling, I was eating home cooked meals (thanks mom), drinking water regularly and had extra time to kill. I started to move my body more regularly. I started with a walk a day. A walk a day turned into yoga, yoga turned into weight training, weight training turned into HIIT and all of the movement turned into a commitment to myself. I had finally found the reason for my "fitness" journey. Health + longevity!

Eventually I made my way back to the Bay Area, started a new job and got a dog and . My routine went out the window and my consistency started to break. I missed the intensity and results I saw back home but was having a hard time motivating myself to get back into it. This is when I reached back out to Carlyle. I remembered how patient she was with me at my lowest and figured she was just the person I needed to give me a new jump start. 

Carlyle and I started to train again in May 2021 and have been pretty consistent since. Carlyle keeps me accountable, and she pushes in the most loving ways to wander out of my comfort zone (hello upper body strength!), and makes me feel powerful on both my good and bad days.” -S.R

I met Carlyle pre-pandemic at a gym near my work and I felt right from the start that she would be one I can work with to achieve my fitness goals. As a former athlete, I recognized that my fitness level hasn’t been the same.  Thanks to Carlyle, her training programs allowed me to continue doing my favorite activities including road biking, scuba diving and walking my favorite doggie, Bennie!  Her programs are very practical, doesn’t require a lot of equipment and most importantly target areas that allow me to gain more strength and mobility.  As a result of working out with Carlyle for nearly 4 years (and counting :-), I have the strength to lift heavy scuba equipment, swim against strong currents, the flexibility to lunge and change direction (as this happens a lot when walking my dog) and improved stamina to ride my bike through the hills of San Francisco.  

I look forward to every training session with Carlyle. After each one, I am in a better mood and have the energy to tackle all the challenges that the day has for me. Carlyle's creativity, innovative programs and caring attitude gives me the motivation to continue staying fit and enjoy life to the fullest!
